The Anubis Gates (Ace Science Fiction)

The Anubis Gates (Ace Science Fiction) - Tim Powers This was my first exposure to Tim Powers and it had a profound effect. This book just sucked me in and I couldn't put it down. This novel has some genuine surprises, wonderful characters, and truly bizarre bad guys.

Truly strange with typical Powers devices of the supernatural, occult, and the just plain weird, this is the most popular of his novels and is a good place to start.
